Speaking Engagements
I’ve had the great fortune to speak at art and illustration events across the country with Organizations like SCBWI and CBIG-NYC. I have talks prepared on several topics, including:
The Art & Architecture of Picture Books
Diversity & Visual Representation in Children’s Literature
Storyboarding for Picture Books
Portfolio Building & Self Promotion
Illustrating for a Middle-Grade Audience
Character Development
The Group Critique: How to Give and Receive Constructive Feedback
I love the opportunity to come out and meet a group of artists and illustrators and I’m happy to speak to topics that you think will best help your group thrive. Use the form on this page to find out if I might be available to speak at your event.
If you’d like to have me jury a show or offer portfolio critiques, those can also be arranged.
Mallory is a sixth-generation Texan who up and moved to New York City to design books for companies like Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, Alloy Entertainment, and Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group. She is obsessed with storytelling in all forms and is translating her expertise in narrative and visual development from the page to the screen. To do this, she’s forsaken the motherland (Texas) and the mothership (Brooklyn) to try her hand as a writer and producer in Tinseltown (Los Angeles).
Mallory is currently an MFA Candidate in the Peter Stark Producing Program (class of 2027) and an Annenberg Graduate Fellow at the University of Southern California, where she is focused on bringing impactful, female-led stories to life.
